How should a Catholic respond to problems in Vatican II or with Pope Francis?

Think of your relationship with the church like a marriage. You are baptized into the church and buried by her, joined at the hip, and there is really only one church, so you cannot just pick up your bags and leave the way you might switch stores. In a marriage neither spouse is perfect; somebody says something wrong, somebody is not well informed and speaks off the cuff, and you cannot storm off. You have to be patient and let things go. Same with the church. If you find problems in Vatican II or with Pope Francis, put up with it, just as you would with a spouse. I do not believe there is any doctrinal problem in Vatican II, but there are problems with the way it is written, because it leaves room for people to interpret it however they want; that is true of about half a dozen of its documents. But God put those men in place with the authority to make Vatican II what it is, and it is their responsibility. James 3:1 says let not many of you be teachers, for you will be judged more strictly, so the men behind any problems are the ones who will answer for it. You and I are just lay people; go to church, do your job, pray, raise your children, and get your conscience right, because at the end of the day it is just you and God.
