If the earth doesn't move, how could the Three Gorges Dam slow its rotation?

A viewer asks how the Three Gorges Dam could supposedly slow the earth's rotation if, under geocentrism, the earth does not move.

In the geocentric system nothing can make the earth move, either rotate or translate, because it is the center of mass and stays fixed in space. But events on and inside the earth, cataclysms like volcanoes, tsunamis and earthquakes, or raising mass on the surface to a different height, cause an inertial strain, which is why magazines say such events slow the earth's rotation by a few microseconds. In a geocentric universe that disruption is simply absorbed, because the earth is held fast. In fact, that is why you can have an earthquake at all: the land has something to move against precisely because the earth itself does not move.
