Should I be seriously concerned that my priest is married with nine children?

A viewer, noting that some bishops want women and homosexuals ordained, asks whether it is a serious concern that their priest is married with nine children.

Answer

I'm questioning the meaning of your question. Being aware there are bishops, yes, unfortunately, who say women and homosexuals should be ordained. And knowing my priest is married with nine children. He may be a priest from the Orthodox who converted to Catholicism. And he was married before and had nine children. And the Catholic Church allowed him to carry over that marriage, even being a priest. That happens sometimes. So you said, is this a serious consideration? I don't know what you mean by serious. The bishops wanting women and homosexuals ordained is of course serious, but the man who is married with nine children is not necessarily a serious condition. Now, if he came in by stealth somehow and illegally became a priest, which I don't think can happen, yeah, that would be a serious condition as well.
