Was Christ born on December 25th, and can it be proven?

Things that have to do with dates can come close to being proven but usually are not, because dating is elusive. But personally, yes, I have done a lot of work on this, and I think December 25th is the date Christ was born; I can demonstrate that it is the best date we have by four different paths, and you can find this in my book The Dates of Adam and Christ. It was December 25th, 1 BC, because eight days later would be 1 AD, and Christ begins the calendar; there is no year zero. One reason we can do this is that Josephus, under great scrutiny over the last hundred years, has not turned out to be as accurate a historian as we thought, and his 4 BC date for Herod's death, based on an eclipse, turns out to be bogus. Once you get away from that 4 BC date, everything smooths out. Christ was not born in 4 BC, or in September or October, or in 7 or 6 BC. The modern scholars like to lean on Josephus because it upsets the precision of the Christian calendar, which is also why they now use BCE instead of BC, anything to get away from Jesus.
