What becomes of the Eucharist after the Last Judgment?
A viewer asks whether the Eucharist simply ceases after the Last Judgment or reveals something eternal about God's desire to unite himself to creation.
Answer
I do not know for certain, but the Eucharist is not going to be God's final way of uniting himself to creation. The Eucharist is a temporary means by which God unites himself to his people under the conditions of this cursed earth, under sin, imperfection, and corruption. Scripture says the second coming of Christ will rid us of all that; even darkness will be gone in the new heaven and new earth. So God and we are going to be much freer to have intimate association with each other in ways you could never imagine in this world. Some of the saints write about this: there will be so much freedom to associate with God in a multitude of ways that the Eucharist would be, I do not want to say primitive because the Eucharist is holy, but it would not be the best way we can associate with the God of the new heaven and new earth. You are going to have much better association than that.
