What does the title 'God of hosts' mean?

A host is like an army around you. The angels around God would be his host. It is a strange word because the Eucharist is also called a host. But when the Old Testament says, I am the Lord God of hosts, it means he has his angelic beings surrounding him, his army of angelic beings. It does not necessarily have to be angels; it can also refer to the enemies God has destroyed, or the soldiers fighting with him in this evil world. I am the Lord God of hosts means I have a lot of power.
