Why didn't God keep Satan in everlasting chains instead of throwing him to earth to tempt us?

God, of course, does things the way He wants to. And a lot of us probably say, God, why didn't You just punish Satan immediately and sufficiently and completely in the Garden of Eden and get rid of him once and for all, so he never does this again? But He didn't. And we can ask why. And the reason why is because of the nature of our sin. Adam and Eve turned the devil into God, and they turned God into a devil that lies. So the punishment for that grave sin: it's not that our sins can't be forgiven. It's that you're going to deal with the devil the rest of your life. How do you like that? You thought you were so clever in saying that I wasn't looking out for your best interests, and I just didn't want you to be a god to compete with Me, and therefore you could be your own god and do what you wanted. You thought you were pretty clever, didn't you? Well, here's the result of that sin: you're going to live with the devil for the rest of your life, and the rest of the next generation's life, and the next generation, and the next generation. And you're going to learn that God is not somebody you play with, that you test, that you think you can get away with something. I'm going to teach you that until it is just ingrained in your head. You're not going to get away with anything. So he's here because we're being punished. That's why he was sent to earth. Now, the devil's already got his punishment, and he's not the same being he was before. He used to be Lucifer, magnificent, the best angel of God, and now he's just scum. He's slain, cast down to the earth, and has to do what God wants him to do. And he's condemned and can never be forgiven. So he's just waiting for the ultimate punishment, and he can do nothing to escape it. That's his punishment. And he's angry about that, of course, and that's the way the Bible pictures him. And so he's going to take it out on who? You and me. He's going to try to get us to fall away from God the best he can. He's going to let out all the stops, and he's going to do that as long as God keeps the earth here and people on it, because he knows he's doomed. He can't do anything to save himself. So, misery loves company: he's going to bring as many people with him as he can. And we're going to get all that devil attack because we're being punished for what happened in the Garden of Eden, when they thought they could outsmart God. That's why it's happening.
