When Karl Keating, founder of Catholic Answers, published The New Geocentrists, he aimed his book squarely at the modern geocentrists and, in particular, at Robert Sungenis. This is Sungenis' reply.
Sungenis, executive producer of the feature film The Principle and director of CAI Publishing, Inc. (publisher of the Galileo Was Wrong series), reads Keating's book page by page and answers it. In his own words: “I don't think I've seen such a specious assortment of exaggerations innuendos, half truths and downright misinformation in all my years of reading, especially from someone who purports to be a Catholic.” He documents 111 errors across Keating's 355 pages, many of them, he argues, deliberate, and defends the honorable and dedicated Catholics Keating names, along with his own credibility, which Keating had made his primary target.
Sungenis also records what happened next. After the book appeared, both he and Christopher Ferrara challenged Keating to a formal debate, and Keating declined both. Sungenis does not soften his conclusion, calling Keating “both a coward and dishonest,” the first such charge he says he has leveled in thirty books written over two decades. In the absence of a live exchange, this analysis stands in its place.
