Catholic/Jewish Dialogue

Forty years of Catholic-Jewish dialogue have produced more questions than most Catholics can answer with any confidence, and this book puts them in their sharpest form before answering them. Have the two religions come closer together or been irreparably split apart? Did Vatican II change the face of Catholic-Jewish relations, or restate the traditional teaching in modern language? Do the Jews remain the Chosen People, or has that title passed to the Catholic Church?

From there the harder ones. Can the Jews be saved in their own religion, or must they convert to Christianity? Is the New Testament anti-semitic, or does it accurately explain the antagonism between Judaism and Christianity? Does Old Testament prophecy predict the reestablishment of national Israel, or do those prophecies apply figuratively to the Church? Will there be a mass conversion of Jews near the end of time, or should we expect something less? The treatment runs to 740 pages.
