How Seven Popes Failed to Heed Heaven's Command and Brought Turmoil to the Church and the World

In 1929 Our Lady of Fatima asked the Pope to consecrate Russia to her Immaculate Heart in union with all the bishops of the world, for the conversion of Russia and for world peace. On June 26, 2000 the Vatican Secretary of State issued a document saying that John Paul II's 1984 consecration of the world had satisfied that request. John Salza and Robert Sungenis work through the historical record from 1917 to the present and argue that it did not.
Their further charge is that high officials in the Vatican have misled the faithful, about the consecration and also about the Third Secret, which the authors read as foretelling an apostasy in the Church beginning with the upper hierarchy. The book ends where the warning ascribed to Jesus ends: they will repent and do it, but it will be late.
