In geocentrism, do the moon landings and spacecraft distances give the game away?

An emailer says the moon moves much faster than Copernicans think and asks how that squares with the moon landings, and whether a rotating geocentric frame hides the absolute distance a spacecraft travels.

Answer

There is no difference between the heliocentric version and the geocentric version in the distances and times, and this is where people get tripped up, thinking a geocentric model changes the distances or the travel times. It does not, and if someone thinks it does, they probably have the wrong version of geocentrism. We use the neo-Tychonic model, in which all the planets go around the sun, just as in heliocentrism, but the sun itself carries the planets and moves around the earth every day. In the heliocentric model the sun is fixed and the earth is in the third ring moving around it, but the distances and the times to reach anything come out exactly the same. The moon goes around the earth in about twenty-seven days, moving thirteen degrees per day retrograde against the flow of the universe. So whatever you measure in the heliocentric system, you measure the same in the geocentric system; a rocket to the moon takes the same time and travels the same distance. Nothing changes.
