Is Pope Francis Catholic, and could he be removed?

Yes, he is a Catholic and he is the pope, and he may do things we wish he would not, but you have to understand what the Church is. It is two things: first a legal entity, and then an entity that practices the virtues of love, kindness, and compassion. It is just like a marriage, which is legal, you need a license, but love is the essence of the relationship and existed before the wedding. Pope Francis is a legal Catholic because he has been baptized and received the other sacraments, and he is a Catholic by being called to love Christ and his people, even if he is a little off, or a lot off, on how he does it. This is not a religion where, if we do not like what someone is doing, we can say he is not a Catholic; he is a Catholic by something far more powerful than your judgment, and that is baptism, which no one can take away except you, by mortal sin, and even then you remain a member until you are formally excommunicated. So for Pope Francis to cease being pope he would have to be legally excommunicated, and there is no power on earth that can do that, so we are stuck with him, good, bad, or indifferent, until he dies. That is the Catholic Church, and that is why it works.
