What is the Catholic position on frozen embryos?

I do not know what the specific plan is, but I can tell you that the Catholic Church forbids making frozen embryos in the first place. Once you have joined the sperm and the ovum, you have a human being, so when you freeze these, the Church says that is still a human being and you need to do whatever you can to preserve that life. Whether that means implanting it back into the uterus of a woman, I do not know; you would have to consult the code of canon law on that. But the direction is always toward life; whatever preserves life is what the Church wants. What the specific vehicle for that is, is above my pay grade, so you would have to ask someone with authority. All I can tell you is that the Catholic Church is for life, not death.
