What is your opinion of St. Faustina's Diary if parts of it seem self-serving?
A viewer says he has a hard time with St. Faustina's Diary, that some of it seems self-serving, and has doubts about its validity; he knows he is not bound to believe it but asks Robert's opinion.

I have always said the same thing: if you have a doubt about Sister Faustina, I advise you not to get involved, because obviously it is troubling you, and I do not think the histories out there will help you. It is like Malachi Martin, where you can have people talking about him in the most positive terms and others who think he is of the devil, and the two have never met and resolved it. You do not know what history to depend upon when reading a biography, and sometimes when you read her writings, if you are not in the right frame of mind, you can be really turned off. In those cases I would just forget about it; you do not need that stuff. And if you depend on that kind of thing for your spiritual energy, you have to look long and hard at yourself and ask why. I am being as honest with you as I can because I do not want to see you get hurt. This is not unique to us; it has been the case even with popes, including John Paul II.
