Old covenant
Vatican 2 “The Old Covenant has never been revoked by God.” Romans 11:29 that God’s gifts and calling are irrevocable. How could the old covenant system no longer be active if the old covenant isnt revoked? Unless those continue into the new covenant with places like jerimah and ezekial which says in the new covenant isreal will be brought back to the land as part of the fulfillment of the promise and seems to have sacrifices going on and texts like Jesus saying, Matthew 5:17: “I have not come to abolish the law but to fulfill it.” thanks 🙏

Because the Old Covenant (Mosaic covenant) IS revoked. None of it continues into the New Testament. The only covenant to continue is the Abrahamic covenant, and even then, it is only the spiritual Abrahamic covenant (salvation in Christ), not the physical covenant (land and circumcision). Matthew 5:17 means that Jesus, who lived on the Old Testament side of the cross, could not abolish anything from the Old Testament. He had to live by the law, which he did until he died. Additionally, the word "abolish" is the Greek katargeo, which means to totally destroy. As such, even after the cross, neither Jesus nor Paul sought to "destroy" the law. They allowed the Church to use the law as she saw fit (1 Cor 9:9; Romans 13:9-10) but it was never used for salvation.
