No, probably not. Black holes, white holes, and wormholes are all products of the mathematics of general relativity, which is why they are looking for them. General relativity's math puts no limit on gravity; Einstein even added his lambda fudge factor to the tensor equation to slow the expansion and get a steady universe. But Lemaitre reversed the process back to a singularity, his cosmic egg, and the tendency of Einstein's gravitational equation is for everything to collapse into a point, a black hole. As Stephen Hawking said, black holes are the curse of general relativity, because that is where the universe ends up, and nobody wants that.
